Eagle Update 2006

Although there was no shortage of eagles around Gratiot Lake this year, no new eaglets were hatched at the lake in 2006. A supporting branch of the old nest collapsed and that nest appears to be abandoned. Some lake residents have reported that nest building may be underway on Conservancy property on the opposite side of the lake from the old nest. A couple of adults and numerous immature eaglets at various stages of development were seen frequently. On several occasions, up to four immatures and one or more adults were seen at once.
