Eagle Update for 2015

An adult eagle was seen near the nest as spring arrived in the UP, and in the spring flyover, a nest at the lake appeared to be occupied. However, although we have seen and heard eagles frequently in June and July, and later in the summer we saw 9 different eagles on a pontoon trip around the lake, we saw no evidence of activity at either of the nests visible from the lake.

** Although there were more recorded nests in 2011, fewer were productive
probably due to cold, rainy, snowy weather.
* Baraga County's aerial survey did not include 5 of that county's nest sites.

Information above provided by Sergej Postupalsky
based largely on aerial surveys by Brett Huntzinger.
